Merrell Chameleon Arc â Lightweight hiking shoes for women
The Merrell Chameleon Arcis a great all round lightweight walking and Hiking Shoe for women. Based on a trainer style, the weight is kept to an absolute minimum using lightweight breathable mesh uppers, made more robust with nubuck and pig suede panels. One of the most attractive shoes, Merrell have ensured that the styling is attractive, with feminine colours and a slim line design.
The Merrell Chameleon Arc is one of the bestselling brands of Merrell shoes for women, in part because of the attractive lightweight design, however by far the biggest plus is the comfort that the shoes offer. Walking shoes are renowned for requiring a good couple of weeks to break in, which means wearing them only for short excursions or around the house. By using modern materials these trainers offer comfort straight out of the box. Just order them online, wait for delivery, and your feet will avoid any painful blisters. The shoes wrap around the foot giving a really snug fit, feeling secure without feeling restrictive.
Merrell have realised that the female foot is different. Many shoe manufacturers take an average foot shape and scale down their shoes, offering the same model and design in smaller sizes for women. However women's feet are narrower with a shorter big toe and unisex models rarely fit as well as they should. By wearing shoes which are not designed specifically for women, the feet can slide, the heel is not held securely and blisters are a common problem.
The QForm fit in the Merrell Chameleon Arc cradles the foot and is perfect for long term comfort, giving great support to the arches of the feet. Under the feet, Merrell use the same Air Cushion system as their men's shoes to provide excellent shock absorption, whilst increasing stability, especially helpful over broken and uneven terrain. An In-Board™ compression moulded EVA Footframe keeps the foot well supported, and an anatomically moulded footbed feels reallycomfortable underfoot.
The problem with many walking shoe styles is traction. Being required to perform in the wet and dry, over hard packed trails and soft grass and mud, they rarely offer universally good grip or get worn down reallyeasily on hard surfaces. Getting the correct balance of traction and durability can be difficult, and will either see your feet slipping or the shoes wearing down quickly. By using High quality Vibram Rubber with 4mm lugs Merrell shoes and boots have great bite on soft ground, whilst being robust enough to cope with hard packed earth and will have a good long lifespan.
The Chameleon Arc is one of the best Merrell Gore-Tex shoes for women. Totally waterproof, with highly breathable uppers they allow steam to escape to keep the feet totally dry, and you don't have to worry where you are putting your feet.
Overall the Merrell Chameleon Arc is an excellent all round walking and hiking shoe sold in trainer and mid-boot styles, with a great selection of models and colours available.
