• Go In a group, preferably at least four. One should be elected leader

• Avoid abbreviations not featured on the map
• Make sure someone knows where you are going and when you expect to return. Leave your phone number with them.
• Do not become separated from your group
If you lost
• Do not panic
• Try to retrace your steps
• If you can not see, take the path of the safest, least steep way down and take knowledge of landmarks in case you have your steps trace
• If you are completely lost and call for help if need some shelter in bad weather while waiting to be rescued.
If someone is injured
• Do not move unnecessarily
• Call for help
• Keep them warm
